I’ve seen a lot of people asking and wondering if it’s safe to visit Russia for holiday of whether it’s even an idea place for holiday and i decided to find out myself, i visited a lot of cities in Russia to discover for myself which one is best to spend my holiday, first I went to Moscow which is the capital city and then Volgograd and more but it wasn’t so interesting like Saint Petersburg, as you may know, Russia is the largest country in the world and it has borders within Europe and Asia making it look like a continent on it’s own, it takes between 24 hours and more in trains just to cross between the states.
Here is a brief history of the city of Saint Petersburg
St. Petersburg is a Russian port city on the Baltic Sea. It was the imperial capital for 2 centuries, having been founded in 1703 by Peter the Great, subject of the city’s iconic “Bronze Horseman” statue. It remains Russia’s cultural center, with venues such as the Mariinsky Theatre hosting opera and ballet, and the State Russian Museum showcasing Russian art, from Orthodox icon paintings to Kandinsky works. it covers 1,439 km² of land and has more than 5 million population.
In Saint Petersburg i discovered history that made it so great, this city never sleeps and no matter your mood, there is always something for you to do or a place to visit from the amazing Cafe, Restaurants, Shopping malls, Museums, Theaters, Cinemas, Karaoke bars, Night clubs and Strip bars.
I also discovered that the people are friendly, most times Russians will offer to buy me drinks and they say to me, from Russia with love, this was heart warming as i didn’t feel like a foreigner but like a part of them.
I visited Peter and Paul fortress, it was amazing and also took time to visit clubs and karaoke, you will be trilled of how happy people can be, this is the best city to visit in Russia if you plan to go on your next holiday.
